OWL Bakery Bread


Joining forces with creative entrepreneurs to provide visual assets to showcase the passion, purpose, and integrity behind their business is one of the greatest joys I have found in my work. My goal is to help tell their unique stories in an entirely customized way that feels sincere while appealing to our modern culture's enthusiastic desire for engaging imagery.

I first started working with OWL Bakery two years ago when owner Susannah Gephart was in the final stages of launching her storefront bakery and coffee shop. Since then her business has quickly established itself as a shining star within the Asheville culinary scene and entrepreneur community, garnering devotees among locals and tourists alike. Our collaboration has always been one of shared intentionality, focusing not just on the beauty but also the significance of food made with a respected lineage, crafted with love and a devotion to practice, honoring local producers and seasonality while showcasing a spirit of artful play. And so it was with a great sense of excitement that I recently photographed select items from their brand new bread program which will be unveiled this month. Every afternoon a variety of breads will be available at the bakery with a rich selection, including baguettes, ciabatta, babka, brioche, porridge boules, and more. What a delight to photograph such gorgeous creations, imagining the meals and gatherings that they will inspire.
