My role as a photographer and creative collaborator in visual branding is often focused on beautifully and accurately showcasing the unique stories of my clients. While those elements are critical I am also seeking ways to help those businesses SELL. So how do you maximize impact during the critical fall and holiday season? In my experience all these goals can be achieved by celebrating a sense of beautiful abundance and thoughtful but easy gift giving. Natural skincare line C&Co is known for its focus on mindfully sourced ingredients and a minimal aesthetic that allows those ingredients to enjoy the spotlight. So when tasked with highlighting their products—classic offerings, updated packaging, and seasonal specials—I seek to draw in, entice, and educate.

When people look at my product photography images I want them to feel something. In the case of these self care items you may find yourself breathing in deeply, feeling suddenly calm and grounded simply by looking at a beautiful image. What a lovely gift that sense of intention and nourishment is for yourself and someone you care about.

Creating styled compositions that include groupings, whether it’s variations on the same product (in the case of soaps) or thoughtful pairings or collections that would make a memorable impression on the recipient (complimentary skincare items or products for a new mother). Adding in subtle visual accents that communicate a spirit of gift giving—artfully filled and wrapped boxes or ribbon cascading out of frame—not only helps nudge one along in generosity but also enables those images to be utilized well into the future for other gifting sales promotions.
