Sometimes you have creative moments that simply remind you of the importance of play. It's in those pockets of spontaneity that the potential for wonderful discoveries awaits. And so it was one recent afternoon working with Sarah who was very accommodating to my request to climb into a clawfoot tub filled with water and fabric. Suddenly she was transformed into a siren, drifting in waves of seaweed-like swirls of the softest hues. A sense of calm emergence flirting with the subtlest sense of invitation. Float with me.
Photography can serve as an important visual document to a specific moment in time. Change, growth, and new beginnings are something well worth recording. I was therefore excited by the prospect of photographing Rob just days after leaving his job to begin his own design firm and less than a couple months before getting married. And so I asked him to bring some props that provide him with inspiration and select items now shared with his fiancé, including books, textiles from travels, and some favorite clothing and accessories. Those great starting points combined with his (amazing!) long hair provided us with exactly the right visual tools for a very enjoyable portrait session.
